Indexing Your Site(s)

Indexing your site with MSN, Yahoo & Google Webmaster.

Getting your site, or sites (if you have more than one) indexed in the search engines is a very important step, for increasing traffic. For someone who is just starting out, you will probably have very little knowledge of how to do this. Using the search engines webmaster will provide you the instructions for indexing your site. If you search Yahoo, MSN or Google webmaster, all of them will refer you to Bing Webmaster, which means you only need to index your site(s) here, This makes it much easier, since completing the process with bing, takes care of the almost all of the major search engines.

Once you get to this page, you will need to create an account which only takes a few minutes. If you already have a Windows LiveId, then you  you can sign in with that by clicking on Webmaster Tools Sign in.

Once you are signed in, you can set up your account by selecting Preferences on the left sidebar or you can skip this step and come back to it later. Once that is complete, you can add your site(s) for indexing. You can do this by selecting the Home tab, and then add site. From there you just follow the instructions. Once you have verified your site(s) you are done indexing your site(s) here.
If you need additional assistance you can view the blogs which has a lot of helpful information. Some even have a short video that may help even more.

Some of the other search engines have a slightly different process and its best to view those. For example, Ask.com.

Hope this information helps increase traffic.
